Celebrate the art of science and the science of art! Imaginations are charged during this exciting STEAM week of nationally acclaimed award-winning Eurekus NASA projects. Explore our solar system through visual art and investigate NASA mission design and engineering in creative ways. Ignite your imagination with fine art, LED creations, kinetic puppets, circuits & electronics, rockets and more!  The week culminates with a Family Maker Night on Saturday, August 11th where the students will display their projects created during the NASA STEAMakers Camp.  Plus, the whole family will have the opportunity to enjoy theater presentations, Maker stations, pneumatic rockets, and special guests!

Fire ignites imaginations!  In this interactive STEAM camp, the focus of learning will be about fire and art-- incorporating various mediums of art including photography and tile making. Design your own tile and fire it up in a professional artist’s kiln. You will learn how famous artists have depicted fire through visual color-suggestion and you will make your own fire inspired art.  You’ll also explore the world of light and color wavelengths through spectroscopy light studies. Plus you get to watch and participate in a live demonstration of the art of tile making and the glazing process. Special guests and field trips:  Artist Diana Mausser, Native Tile & Ceramics

Learn how to fly a drone and take photos!  In this drone photography course, art and flight technology merge.  You’ll learn fundamental photography skills while also learning the basics of aeronautics, pilot safety and drone operations.   This STEAM camp includes physical flight training time with various types of sUAS drones.

Learn all about concepts of sound and structure -- how sound vibration influences architects, artists, and musicians.  You’ll have fun creating your own sounds and building an architectural prototype model.  Geometric challenges and spatial visualization puzzles will give students a taste of the challenges of architecture. Topics covered will include an exploration of sound wavelengths and the Doppler effect while you create your own orchestral ode to architecture and sound!  Special presenters/field trips: Dublab Radio station and Walt Disney Concert Hall
