Having the CBCS certification status will give you an extra advantage when searching for Medical Billing jobs.   Upon successful completion of the Medical Billing and Coding Training Program, you may now take the National HealthCareer Association (NHA) Certified Billing and Coding Specialist Certification (CBCS) exam here on the El Camino College campus!   El Camino College Community Education in partnership with the National HealthCareer Association (NHA) now offers select dates for students that have completed the Medical Billing & Coding Training Program to sit for NHA's Certified Billing and Coding Specialist Certification exam.  Certification exam package includes:  The online study guide, the online practice assessment, the exam, and exam proctoring fee.   Once you have purchased the exam package through El Camino College, you next must log onto NHA’s website www.nhanow.com and register for the same date with NHA.   Your NHA exam registration date will ONLY be confirmed by El Camino College upon confirmation of your paid registration with El Camino College.   Best of luck!  Get certified!   Important Information: Schedule:  Arrive by no later than 9:45AM.   DO NOT ARRIVE LATE, exam begins promptly at 10:00AM.  Allow ample time for parking due to construction on campus.  Rescheduling:  The NHA exam package fee is non-refundable.  Appointment rescheduling must be processed 3 days prior to the original appointment date with both El Camino College and NHA.  NO REFUNDS. No shows will be subject to an additional $50 proctoring fee and must reschedule with both El Camino College and NHA within 6 months of the originally scheduled exam date.

This introduction to billing course offers you the opportunity to use the coding skills you have acquired to relate the ICD9 codes to appropriate CPT codes for accurate billing and reimbursement.
